Patrick Vieira has jokingly suggested Cesc Fabregas forced him out of Arsenal before the former left for Juventus.
Fabregas became an integral part of Arsene Wenger's team in 2005 and Vieira decided to leave to join the Serie A side.
The Spaniard has revealed that the two spoke about their time at Arsenal when they met up in France.
The Monaco midfielder told Nice-Matin: 'I saw Patrick Vieira when we played against Nice with Monaco.
'It was very funny because I met him in the locker room before the match, he was with the President of Nice and he said to him while looking at me: "President, this is the kid who made me leave Arsenal".'
Fabregas left Chelsea to join Monaco in January after a lack of opportunities under Maurizio Sarri and he has revealed he is up for the challenge.
The former Arsenal man said: 'I was sad at leaving London and the Premier League.
'It represents ten years of my life but also very excited to discover a new challenge, probably the hardest of my career. I have never been afraid of challenges.'
Vieira is the manager of Nice and he has lost three of his last five matches in charge, as they sit 9th.
