Real's Madrid's Vinicius Junior will reportedly sign a new long-term contract to stay at the club and it will include a £1billion release clause, according to reports in Spain.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a breakout campaign last season and it ended with him scoring the only goal in the Champions League final win over Liverpool in May.

Reports had suggested PSG have been pestering the winger not to renew his contract at the Bernabeu for the past seven months and had offered the player a £34.3million-a-year salary.

But the Brazil international will sign a new contract once he returns for pre-season in 10 days, according to Marca.

In what is the clearest indication that Vinicius has become Real's franchise player, the new contract will come with a huge £1B release clause.

The Real Madrid board want the signing of the deal to reflect Vincius' growing influence in the team and they believe he deserves recognition.

They also feel that the role Kylian Mbappe was meant to occupy at Real has now been taken by Vinicus and this has felt natural.

Last month Vincius confirmed his intentions to stay at Real despite interest from elsewhere. He told SporTV: 'I will continue in the biggest club in the world.

'This is just the beginning. I have many things to conquer. I hope to have many trophies at the end of my career.

'It's normal with age [to take time to develop]. I skipped many steps in training. I became a professional when I was 16 years old and still not fully formed.

'Real represented a huge amount of pressure, but I had the help of [Karim] Benzema, Marcelo and Casemiro, who are very experienced players.

'I have always been evolving. This season was good, so i hope the next one will be better.'

The Champions League win completed a double for Carlo Ancelotti's side, who also claimed the LaLiga title by a comfortable 13-point margin from Barcelona.

His current contract runs until 2024 and Vinicius is still one of the lowest-paid in the squad.
