Wayne Rooney's £150,000 Land Rover was defaced with obscene drawings and smeared graffiti after he left it parked in a busy Christmas market in Prestbury, Cheshire, over the weekend.

The Derby County manager, 36, parked his Overfinch Defender in a spot supposedly meant for church bell ringers, with the former pro footballer 'refusing requests to move it' by Christmas market organisers.

Disgruntled locals retaliated by leaving giant genitals in the dirt on the bonnet and sides of the vehicle, which was left less than a mile from the Rooney's £6million home.

The Sun reported that lose weight' was another message inscribed in addition to the rude images, yet smearing in new photographs makes the graffiti illegible.

According to the publication, The Manchester United legend allegedly ignored signs which instructed drivers not to leave vehicles on the road, as the street had been reserved for the market.

It has been said Wayne refused to move it when asked by organisers and went to a local pub to spend the evening drinking with friends.

The sportsman's vehicle was also surrounded with orange traffic cones while a 'no parking' sign was placed under one of his wipers.

A source told The Sun that those setting up had to put up the stalls around the car and move the bell ringers to a different spot.

'Rooney must have known he was in the way, but he just cracked on with his night in the pub,' the source added.

Wayne was then said to have picked up his car on Sunday, 24 hours after he abandoned it.

The 36-year-old saw his Derby side take a 1-0 victory over Blackpool on Saturday afternoon.

His side are bottom of the Championship table and 17 points away from safety - due to their 21-point deduction.
