Wayne Rooney's car 'daubed with obscenities' after 'refusing to move it' at a Christmas market

Wayne Rooney's Land Rover was reportedly daubed with obscenities after he left it parked in a busy Christmas market.

The Derby County manager parked his £150,000 Overfinch Defender in a spot which was supposedly meant for church bell ringers at the market in Prestbury, Cheshire.

As reported by The Sun, the Manchester United legend allegedly ignored signs which instructed drivers not to leave vehicles on the road, as the street had been reserved for the market.

It's said he refused to move it when asked by organisers and went to a local pub to spend the evening drinking with friends.

'Furious locals' then daubed his £150,000 car with messages and drew giant genitals in the dirt on the bonnet and sides of the vehicle.

They wrote 'w****r' on the rear windscreen while 'lose weight' was another message written on the car.

Rooney's vehicle was also surrounded with orange traffic cones while a 'no parking' sign was placed under one of his wipers.

A source told The Sun that those setting up had to put up the stalls around the car and move the bell ringers to a different spot.

Rooney is then said to have picked up his car on Sunday, 24 hours after he abandoned it.

The 36-year-old saw his Derby side take a 1-0 victory over Blackpool on Saturday afternoon.

His side are bottom of the Championship table and 17 points away from safety - due to their 21-point deduction.
