Mark Noble has signed a new one-year extension at West Ham as a reward for responding well to a lack of Hammers playing time, according to reports.
The West Ham captain has been left out of David Moyes' Premier League starting line-up for the past 11 games and has played just 82 minutes of league football in 2021.
Noble has been the victim of Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek's excellent performances for the high-flying Hammers, who signed attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United in January to limit the 33-year-old's game time even further.
But according to talkSPORT, Noble has put pen to paper on a new contract at the London Stadium which has offered to him as he reacted well to being benched by Moyes.
Noble has been at West Ham for 21 years after joining as a young teenager from Arsenal in 2000. Since making his debut in the summer of 2004, the midfielder has gone on to make 520 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers.
He is West Ham's all-time appearance maker in the Premier League and was appointed as club captain in the summer of 2015 when Slaven Bilic was manager.
Last month, Noble accepted that his game time would be limited under Moyes but still declared his desire to end his career at the east London club.
When asked about his game time, the midfielder told the Evening Standard in January: 'To be honest I’ve not been phased by it at all. You can't keep playing at that level.
'The Premier League really is a young man's game, it is such an athletic game and I've been lucky enough to play in it week in, week out for 16 years. I've had my fair share of games.
'The manager knows this club for me is where it all began and probably where it will finish. He's got me in the changing room so if he needs me he knows I'm here but I'm going to enjoy my last little bit of time as a West Ham player.
'Hopefully in the future I see myself being in the background at West Ham, making decisions and helping the manager and having a role that sort of way.'
Noble has been in and out of the West Ham matchday squad since the start of the season but has still made 14 league appearances this term.
The veteran midfielder is vying to be in the Hammers squad for the visit of Leeds United on Monday night as the east Londoners look to keep up their bid for a Champions League spot.
Moyes' side can go back above sixth-placed Tottenham with a point but can't move into the top-four as fourth-placed Chelsea face fifth-placed Everton just before them on Monday evening.
