West Ham keen on signing Jesse Lingard from Manchester United

Manchester United's Jesse Lingard is wanted by West Ham as he considers his future.

Lingard was left out of United's squad against Liverpool and trained with other fringe players at Carrington.

Newcastle and West Brom are also chasing a deal for the 28-year-old, but would look to take him on loan.

West Ham manager David Moyes has worked with Lingard before when he was manager of the Red Devils during the 2013-14 season.

However he only managed Lingard in a number of pre-season friendlies before he spent the year on loan at Birmingham and then Brighton.

Lingard broke into the Manchester United team under Moyes' successor Louis van Gaal, and has scored 33 goals in 210 appearances for the club.

However he has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, and has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League so far this season.

A number of other clubs have previously been touted as potential destinations, including Inter Milan, Tottenham, Nice and Sheffield United.

The January transfer window ends at 11pm on February 1, so any club would have to make the move in the next week.

David Moyes is hoping to sign Lingard, plus a striker before the end of the window.
