David Moyes spent just 10 months at the helm of Manchester United but that spell felt much longer to many of the club's fans, who would rather forget that time altogether.
Five players were allowed to depart the club permanently during the Scot's doomed tenure - we take a look at where they are now.
Mats Møller Dæhli
Dæhli signed a professional contract with Manchester United on his 17th birthday in 2012 and whilst he would go on to win 23 caps for the Norwegian international team, he would never appear in the first-team at Old Trafford.
He won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award at the end of his maiden season for the Red Devils and was a star at reserve level.
Just a few days into Moyes' reign in July 2013, he was sold on a permanent deal to Molde - then managed by current United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - although it was suggested the Reds ensured a buyback clause was inserted.
Dæhli would follow Solskjaer to Cardiff six months later but his stint in the Welsh capital was short - he played for Freiburg and St. Pauli in Germany, before signing for Belgian club Genk this year.
Scott Wootton
The former England Under-17 international switched Liverpool's youth system for United after appearing for the Merseyside club's Under-18 side aged just 14. His promise continued in Manchester - captaining the academy team in 2009–10 and becoming a regular for the reserves the following year.
Loan spells at Tranmere, Peterborough and Nottingham Forest followed, but he did make four appearances for United in the 2012-13 campaign. This included a Champions League appearance against Cluj and two League Cup appearances - although he conceded a penalty in the 5-4 loss at Chelsea in October 2012.
Wootton joined Leeds on a £1million deal in the summer of 2013 - making 74 appearances across three seasons, then spent two years at Milton Keynes Dons before joining Plymouth in 2018.
Fabio da Silva
Along with his twin brother Rafael, Fabio began his career with Fluminense in his native Brazil before the pair joined United in 2007. Unlike Rafael - who was most often deployed on the right-side of a back four - the left-sided Fabio struggled to hold down a place in United's side.
However, Fabio started in the 2011 Champions League final loss against Barcelona and won two senior caps for the Brazil national side that year. However, he was sent to Queen's Park Rangers on a season-long loan deal in 2012/13 to get regular game-time.
The Brazilian made three appearances under Moyes but his fate was sealed by a disastrous outing in the FA Cup Third Round loss to Swansea. With the scores level at 1-1, Fabio was introduced as a 76th minute substitute for Rio Ferdinand but three minutes later was sent-off for a reckless lunge on Jose Canas, with United going on to lose the game.
Like Dæhli, Fabio was allowed to join Cardiff in January 2014 and he made 68 appearances for the club before joining Middlesbrough in 2016. After two seasons as a regular first-teamer on Teesside, he moved to Ligue 1 side Nantes on a three-year contract in the summer of 2018.
Ryan Tunnicliffe
The central midfielder turned professional for United in December 2009 and helped the side to the FA Youth Cup title in 2011 - the club's most recent trophy at that level - and winning the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award.
Along with Wootton, he joined Peterborough on loan in 2011 before returning to once again flourish in United's reserve side. Tunnicliffe made his senior debut in the League Cup win over Newcastle in September 2012, helping a relative win £10,000 from a bet 10 years earlier that he would play for the club's senior team.
One time captain of England's Under-14 team and capped up to Under-17 level, he had spent the first half of the 2013-14 campaign on loan at Ipswich but was sold permanently to Fulham late in the January transfer window. He made 65 first-team appearances for the West London club and has been in the Championship ever since across stints at Blackburn, Wigan, Millwall and Luton Town.
Larnell Cole
Cole's sole appearance for United's first team came as a substitute in a 3-0 League Cup win at Leeds in September 2011 after starring for the youth teams. He hit an eye-catching hat-trick against rivals Manchester City in a 6–1 victory in the Premier Academy League and was influential in the 2011 FA Youth Cup triumph.
Cole was again prominent for the Under-21 side in 2013, scoring a hat-trick in the semi-final of the Under-21 Premier League against Liverpool before hitting a further two goals against Tottenham in the final.
The midfielder moved to Fulham alongside Tunnicliffe but made just one first-team appearance - ironically against United in the 2-2 draw at Old Trafford, where he appeared as a substitute in the 80th minute. Both he and Tunnicliffe were signed by former United coach Rene Meulensteen but they were deemed surplus to requirements by his replacement, Felix Magath.
Cole had subsequent loan spells at Milton Keynes Dons, Shrewsbury Town and Inverness Caledonian Thistle before joining Tranmere permanently in 2017. He left the club earlier this year and joined FC United of Manchester.
