Liverpool continue their UEFA Champions League campaign on Tuesday as they face the Turkish champions in Istanbul.
The 2025/26 UEFA Champions League season continues tonight as Liverpool take on Galatasaray. Arne Slot’s side have travelled to Istanbul to face the Turkish Süper Lig champions at Rams Park in the second round of League Phase fixtures.
The Reds boss will be hoping his team can build on their success from the opening game against Atlético Madrid, where a last-minute goal from captain Virgil van Dijk snatched all three points in a 3-2 win. However, tonight’s game comes days after Liverpool’s first defeat of the season, when high-flying Crystal Palace caused an upset in the Premier League with their own last-minute winner.
Despite this, Liverpool are still top of the table after six games, leading Arsenal by two points following the Gunners’ dramatic win against Newcastle United on Sunday. Galatasaray have also started their domestic season in fine form, once again sitting top of the Süper Lig on an unbeaten seven-game streak.
Their Champions League campaign got off to a sticky start as they suffered a 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt which included two own goals. Ahead of the game on Tuesday, Slot confirmed Federico Chiesa will not be available after picking up an injury at Selhurst Park.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “He got a little niggle in the last game against Palace. He tried today, he was on the pitch in the beginning, but he couldn’t end the session, so we decided not to take him because in a few days it’s Chelsea.”
Unlike most Champions League games, tonight’s fixture will not be broadcast on TNT Sports, but there is a way to watch the game completely free.
