Kylian Mbappe may be a World Cup winner with France and perhaps the best young forward in the game, but he is not the only talented player in the family…
Younger brother Ethan, 15, made his European debut for Paris Saint-Germain's under-19s in the UEFA Youth League on Tuesday, helping them to a 5-3 win over Juventus.
Elder brother Kylian later bagged a brace as PSG's senior's beat Juve's 2-1 in their Champions League Group H opener, but Ethan remains one to watch.
Their careers have run in parallel before now, too. Ethan joined PSG in 2017, the summer Kylian first arrived on loan from Monaco.
And he renewed his PSG contract last summer, before the elder Mbappe spurned Real Madrid to do the same in May.
What position does Mbappe play in?
Unlike Kylian, Ethan is a technical, left-footed midfielder who does his best work from a far deeper position than his brother.
Although not as explosively fast as his sibling, Ethan is still physically adept, and is happy to put his foot in against players often four years his senior.
He also a set-piece taker, who was already taking free-kicks for PSG's under-17s at 14.
How good is Mbappe?
Really quite good, it would seem. Ethan has raced through the academy teams at PSG, consistently playing years ahead of his age, and he already has what seems like an innate ability to dictate play.
PSG let Xabi Simons move to PSV Eindhoven this summer, while Edouard Michut was made available for transfer. With Mbappe emerging in the same position, that would seem to make sense.
"He's a very elegant midfielder," Clairefontaine director Jean-Claude Lafargue told RMC. "He's very fluent, he's very intelligent. He's a player in the making, that's for sure."
What clubs are interested in Mbappe?
Barcelona are reportedly keeping tabs on Mbappe, no doubt keen to avenge the Simons deal from Camp Nou to the Parc des Princes in 2019.
But as befitting of a prodigious teenaged talent, most major clubs in European football will be keeping their finger on the pulse with Mbappe - not least if it helps turn Kylian's head later.
For now, Mbappe will be given the time to develop at PSG, though.
When does Mbappe's contract expire?
Mbappe Jr.'s current deal suns until the summer of 2024, at which point he will be able to sign full pro terms at the Parc des Princes.
