Initial tests indicate that Mahrez suffered a problem related to food poisoning after eating fast food in one of the city’s restaurants. Alarm bells went off when the Saudi press published several images of the Algerian winger lying on a stretcher and receiving oxygen through a mask.
Doubt for Bilic
The latest news on Mahrez indicates that the Algerian player is now fine. Mahrez was due to play for Al Ahli today against Al Taawoun, but is now unlikely to be available for Croatian coach Slaven Bilic. The Saudi club have not yet issued an update on his condition.
