Willian has reflected upon how Chelsea managed to derail Liverpool's title bid in 2014 ahead of the latest meeting between the sides.

In the 2014 clash Chelsea won 2-0 with Demba Ba opening the scoring following Steven Gerrard's infamous goal before Willian also found the net.

Willian reflected upon how Chelsea managed to prevail by parking the bus and hitting Liverpool on the counter-attack.

As reported by The Sun, Willian said: 'It was a special goal. I recovered the ball in our half and we went, two of us against the goalkeeper, so it was easy to score.

'We did a great job. It was a very positive game for us. It doesn't matter the way we played, the most important thing was the result. We parked the bus but we won the game.'

Willian described the atmosphere in the dressing room after the game at Anfield as 'unbelievable'.

He said: 'When you win these kind of games, everyone is very happy inside the dressing room. The atmosphere was unbelievable.

'The fans enjoyed it a lot because it's one of the big games, to play against Liverpool. It was a very special game.'

When asked whether he felt sorry for Gerrard, Willian said: 'I don’t know if ‘sorry’ is the right word.'

Chelsea return to Anfield on Sunday, and, while they can't quite have the same impact on Liverpool's title challenge, they can cause problems for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Liverpool go into the clash two points clear at the top of the table, although they have played a game more than their title rivals Manchester City.

Willian has scored eight goals in 49 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions, while he has provided 14 assists.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are currently in fourth place as they look to secure a place in next season's Champions League.

The Blues have struggled for consistency under Maurizio Sarri this season but they have managed to win their last four games across all competitions.
