Raul Jimenez believes Wolves are capable of challenging for the Champions League after becoming the club's record signing.

The 27-year-old completed his £30million move from Benfica on a contract until 2023 and revealed his big ambitions.

'This is our first time in the Premier League for a while, we are doing well, so why not think about aiming for the Champions League or the top six?' he said.

'We have very good players, we have a good team that can compete. We have to think the best things we can.'

Wolves moved to secure Jimenez's services ahead of his loan finishing in the summer, with him having scored 15 goals in a successful campaign. And the Mexican is very happy at Molineux.

'Since I arrived here, I've seen the team is growing,' he said. 'The chairman too is doing good things. Now we were seventh, for a promoted team that's very good.

'I want to make history at this club. Being part of this team is an amazing thing. It's a privilege. It was an easy decision for me. We are looking forwards always, next year things may be better for us. If I score 12, 13, 14 goals now I am going to go for more next year. I am always looking to improve.

'If we qualify for the Europa League that would be amazing. I have never played in that tournament.'
