Wolves stage remarkable injury time turnaround to stun Tottenham - 5 talking points

Wolves staged a stunning stoppage-time turnaround to leave Tottenham floored at Molineux on Saturday afternoon.

Brennan Johnson's early strike looked as though it had given injury-hit Spurs a precious win in the West Midlands and saw them reclaim top spot oin the Premier League. The former Nottingham Forest man gave his side the perfect start at Molineux as he tapped home his first goal for the club after just a couple of minutes.

However, late goals from Pablo Sarabia and Mario Lemina saw Wolves seal a scarcely believable victory. Take a look at all of the talking points from the game:

One of the players drafted into Ange Postecoglou's side amid a host of injury issues, Johnson laid down a marker almost immediately by opening the scoring. The Welsh winger found himself unmarked just yards from goal to tap home Pedro Porro's perfect centre.

While it was the perfect way to mark his return to the side, it has also seen the former Nottingham Forest winger kick off his Spurs career. The strike was his first for the North London club since his summer switch from the City Ground.

With an opportunity now to stake a claim in the Spurs side as they deal with their mounting injury problems, Johnson has certainly not done his prospects any harm at all.

While Spurs claimed a dream start in the Black Country, it was actually the hosts that dominated large swaths of the first period. After Johnson's opening goal, Postecoglou's side only had one shot for the entirety of the first half.

Meanwhile, Wolves had nine in total before the break - one of them from former Southampton man Mario Lemina forcing Guglielmo Vicario into an excellent stop to preserve Spurs' lead. Wolves might have been ruing the fact that they failed to make their pressure count but eventually got level.

The last thing that Postecoglou needed during this game was yet another enforced absenteee but that is exactly what was dealt out to him. During the closing stages of the first half, midfielder Yves Bissouma crunched in on eventual matchwinner Lemina and justifiably picked up a caution.

It signalled his fifth yellow card of the season, meaning that he will now face a one-match suspension. He will miss the clash with Aston Villa after the international break.

That sees him join Cristian Romero on the sidelines - the Argentine banned after his red card vs Chelsea. Added to Spurs' injury problems, Bissouma and his manager will no doubt bemoan his caution.

Gary O'Neil's men continued to set the majority of the tone throughout the afternoon but their finishing left a lot to be desired. Hwang-Hee Chan was guilty of missing a golden opportunity to equalise from only yards out.

Elsewhere, Matheus Cunha also let Spurs off the hook during the second-half as he curled a great chance wide of goal. Substitute Sasa Kalajdžić also had a great chance to equalise late on but placed an inviting header high and wide.

With 14 goals to their name this season, Wolves' lack of a finisher has come back to hurt them again and it is a problem that O'Neil will be desperate to rectify going forwards. Maybe he needs to look to his substitutes more often...

While it looked for a long time that they weren't going to find a way through, Pablo Sarabia showed everyone how it was done after being introduced as a substitute. He took a stunning touch from Cunha's ball forwards before lashing home a wonderful effort past Vicario.

While a point might have been deserved, the Old Gold then sent the home support into raptures as Lemina rounded off a brilliant team move to get on the end of Sarabia's low pass and then slot home the winning goal. O'Neil will likely not thank his players for finding their shooting boots so late but he will nevertheless be delighted with the win.
