'You beauty! Get in!': Gary Neville goes absolutely BERSERK after Salford City's late win

Gary Neville was seen going ballistic as his Salford City side came from behind to beat AFC Wimbledon thanks to two injury-time goals.

Going into injury time Salford were losing 1-0 to the Dons at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, until a brace from Callum Hendry in the fifth and sixth minute of added time won the game for Neville's team.

Watching from home the Sky Sports pundit and co-owner of Salford posted a video of himself reacting to the late win from his living room.

Neville can be seen going berserk and screaming in celebration at Salford's winner, shouting 'YOU BEAUTY' before falling down onto the sofa next to his daughter - clearly embarrassed at her Dad's reaction to the victory.

The win leaves Salford in the last play-off position in League Two, a point above eighth place Mansfield Town with five games left to play.

Neville's celebration may have gone down well with the Ammies, but fans on Twitter have called the 48-year-old an embarrassment and some even questioned the sincerity of his reaction.

'Embarrassing, nearly as bad as people at a matching filming themselves when a goal goes in'. Said one post about Neville's celebration.

While others simply said 'This is so embarrassing' or 'Holy cringe' at the former Manchester United and England defender.

Others double-downed on how genuine they thought Neville was, with some labelling it a 'fake celebration' and 'forced'. While one post went a step further by stating 'This is no normal person's reaction to anything'.

However, Neville did explain his actions to one user who questioned how quickly he managed to get his phone out when the winner went in. Crediting his speediness to an alert on his phone from a live app notification.

Neville tweeted 'Yes because we’d just equalised and my Flash score came up winner 5 secs before it came on stream. Enjoy your night cos I am'.

The TV pundit is part of a group of former Manchester United teammates that invested in Salford in 2014. Along with Gary and his brother Phil, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Ryan Giggs all own a 10% stake in the club. With the other 50% backed by Singaporean businessman Peter Lim.

Under their ownership Salford have risen from the NPL Division One North all the way through to League Two, as well as winning the EFL Trophy in 2020.
