Ashley Young missed Manchester United's Premier League win over Norwich City with an unspecified injury amid doubts over his future at the club, according to Manchester Evening News.
Young, 34, was omitted from the squad against Manchester City in midweek but was fit for the League Cup semi-final first leg defeat. However, Young was injured for the 4-0 win over Norwich.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said Young 'wasn't fit to play' a day after the full-back did not appear in any training photographs published by the club.
Fellow left-back Luke Shaw withdrew from the United squad with a tight hamstring during the warm-up to the Norwich match. The injuries to Young and Shaw leave Brandon Williams as the only fit United left-back currently available to Solskjaer.
Young wants to leave United for Inter Milan this month to savour one last experience in his career. The MEN understands the United club captain is keen to move to Inter in the January transfer window since Young is conscious he does not have much time left in the game. Young turns 35 in July.
Young has agreed a contract in principle with Inter and coach Antonio Conte - who tried to sign Young on transfer deadline day in 2017 - wants the United full-back to move this month. Sources say United are 'digging their heels in' to retain Young until the end of the season - when his deal expires - but he wants to be allowed to leave now.
