Zidane is too late to the party when it comes to signing Mane

Zinedine Zidane's interest in Liverpool's Sadio Mane is well known. The forward was someone Zidane wanted last summer according to 'France Football' but the transfer was abandoned after the coach left the club.

Zidane has now told Florentino Perez he wants the Senegalese man at Madrid but the chances of that happening are much less than 12 months ago. This is because Mane signed a new contract in November, extending his stay until 2023, and Liverpool don't want to lose any of their key players. It would take a crazy amount of cash, similar to what happened with Coutinho, for the English side to sell.

Klopp is a huge fan of Mane's and values his impact on the side as highly as he does Salah's.

Zidane isn't ready to give up yet though. At 26 years of age, Mane is an established player who can cause any defence problems. Like Vinicius, he's a right-footed winger who loves to come in off the left. This appeals to Zidane.

Mane is a key target for Madrid but it appears they might have made their move a little too late.
