Atletico Madrid confirm Morata suffers a muscle contracture in his right leg

Atletico Madrid have confirmed that Alvaro Morata underwent an MRI at a hospital in Orlando on Monday, following the discomfort he felt early on during their 7-3 victory over Real Madrid in New Jersey last Friday night.

Los Rojiblancos' supporters can breathe easy, though, as the tests ruled out a break in Morata's right leg. Instead, he has been diagnosed with a muscle contracture and will undergo rehabilitation work and individual training sessions in order to return to action as soon as possible.

Everything seems to indicate that Morata will miss Atleti's match against the MLS All-Stars, as well as their match against Atletico San Luis. He may be ready to face Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus on August 10.
