‘It is turning point in the season’ – Mbappé talks up PSG’s clash against Barca

Ahead of PSG’s upcoming Champions League quarter-final clash against Barcelona, Kylian Mbappé (25) was asked by Téléfoot about the importance of the fixture as far as Les Parisens’ season is concerned moving forward.

Paris Saint-Germain are still in the pursuit of an unprecedented treble this season. With their place in the Coupe de France final confirmed in midweek after a victory against Rennes, their chances look even stronger. Domestically, the Ligue 1 champions look set to keep that crown with a 10+ point lead at the top of the French top flight.

Nevertheless, it is success in Europe which fans of Les Parisiens’ crave. This makes their upcoming match against Luis Enrique’s former club, Barcelona, in the Champions League quarter-finals all the more important as they chase that elusive European crown. There is an added essence of now or never too with this likely to be Kylian Mbappé’s last chance to win the UCL with his hometown club as he looks set for pastures new next season.

When asked about the upcoming clash against Barcelona, the France captain said, “Every year, this period is a turning point in the season. At the end of April, we will have an indication of the type of season we are likely to have. I am sure that we will give everything to achieve the result… it’s in God’s hands!”

PSG are set to play their first leg against the Blaugrana on the 10th of April at the Parc des Princes. The return leg will take place at the Camp Nou on Tuesday 16th April.
