“Klopp has two wishes: to coach Germany and to manage Real Madrid”

Miroslav Tanjga, former teammate and friend of Klopp, revealed the German coach’s preferences.

The current coach of Vojvodina gave more clues: “Jürgen does not want to go to Serie A or France, and he will not coach another English team besides Liverpool.”

Speculation continues regarding the Real Madrid bench. Although the current manager may be the best in the club’s history, the likely trophyless season he’s facing could prove decisive for his future in the Spanish capital.

And since memory is short in football, rumors are already swirling about possible replacements for Carlo Ancelotti. While Xabi Alonso remains the frontrunner, Jürgen Klopp — currently Red Bull’s Global Head of Football — is also being mentioned. The latest information comes from Klopp’s friend and former Mainz 05 teammate in the 1990s, Miroslav Tanjga.

The current Vojvodina coach claimed that Klopp had confided in him that his dreams are to coach Germany and manage Real Madrid:

“What Klopp told me when he left Liverpool was that he had two wishes: to coach the national team and to manage Real Madrid. I don’t know if either will come true.”

Tanjga also ruled out Klopp coaching in Serie A, Ligue 1, or any other Premier League club:

“He is definitely one of the candidates for the Real Madrid bench, but for now, all this is pure speculation. I also know he never saw himself managing any other English team besides Liverpool. He doesn’t want to go to Serie A or to France, and at some point, I believe he will become Germany’s national team coach.”

Finally, he noted that Klopp himself is unsure about when he’ll return to management:

“We talk, but right now he’s an ambassador for Red Bull, working with clubs from that group worldwide, and he isn’t thinking much about coaching. Whether he’ll get bored and return to the bench, not even he knows yet.”
