American YouTuber IShowSpeed was left gutted after discovering that Cristiano Ronaldo would not be featuring for Manchester United against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., tweeted to his 1.1million followers that he was heartbroken after it was confirmed that Ronaldo was suffering from an illness and so was unavailable for selection. "I’m crying right now," the internet sensation posted.

"I flew all the way to Manchester to see Ronaldo and he not playing." The 17-year-old, who is best known for his gaming videos, lives in Cincinnati, Ohio and had made the special trip over just to see the Portuguese ace.

In his pre-match interview, Erik ten Hag confirmed that Ronaldo was out with an illness and he did not know when he would return. However, the Dutch coach did clarify that he was not worried about the 37-year-old's absence.

Fortunately for IShowSpeed, his trip to England wasn't a complete waste of time. The YouTuber streamed his arrival at a box inside Old Trafford to his 12.8m subscribers after being given 'VIP' status for the match.

The teenager is best known to the UK audience for his appearance in the YouTube All-Stars' charity game with Sidemen FC at Charlton Athletic's The Valley. Despite being on the losing side, IShowSpeed and his fellow internet personalities raised more than £1m at the event.
