'My friends tell me how to stop Messi, but doing it is another matter'

Real Sociedad are ready to face Barcelona, and Diego Llorente is mentally focused on trying to stop Lionel Messi on Saturday afternoon, although he is acutely aware of just how difficult a challenge this will be.

It wouldn't be a bad time to score against Barcelona. Do you think that you can repeat the last victory over them?

I will try my best in the defensive zones, but also in attack to see if I'm lucky enough to score. I don't think Anoeta is a complicated venue just for Barcelona, but it is for every team.

Is there a better attacking trident than the one made by Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann?

I think it's very difficult to match, really. I think that this type of great individuality can be stopped by the strength of a unit, and that is what we're going to try as a defence. Winning our individual battles will take us closer to victory. Our objective is to make them uncomfortable; that they are more aware of stopping our football that displaying their talent. That's what we're going to try and do.

Can a former Real Madrid player say that Messi is the best player in the world?

I think there are matters where one must leave their own person feelings to one side. When he's very good then he's very good, but there are other times where not so much, and that also must be said. He's a top player, like many in the league, and my goal is to stop him, rather than saying he's the best.

Can a goal like Suarez's [which he scored against Real Mallorca] be avoided?

I think there are situations, when even if the defending is correct, players have certain resources available to them that can help them score a goal. That is more worthy of the attacker than the defence, sometimes even if you do everything right, their individual class takes over
