Liverpool forward Mo Salah revealed his dream 5-a-side team, but there was no room for team-mate Virgil van Dijk in the star-studded lineup.

Salah selected himself to feature alongside five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo and PSG forwards Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

However one Liverpool defender did make the cut in Trent Alexander-Arnold, who will line up alongside Salah and van Dijk in Saturday night's Champions League final against Real Madrid.

Salah told Rio Ferdinand on BT Sport: 'I'll go for Trent - I love Trent - so I'll go for Trent... and Mbappe and myself.

'I'm Sorry Virgil I don't defend!

'I'll take Messi and Ronaldo.'

The Egyptian winner was then pressed to reveal who he thought was the best player in the world, other than himself, and named Real Madrid's Karim Benzema.

French striker Benzema is thought to be Salah's main rival in the race for the 2022 Ballon d'Or, with both fighting for their maiden title.

Salah said: 'If I don't pick myself, I pick Benzema, and Mbappe.'
