'We are critical of him' - Carragher slams Pogba for hitting back at Souness

Manchester United star Paul Pogba has been accused of being disrespectful to Graeme Souness after hitting back over the Sky Sports pundit's constant criticism of him.

Souness has routinely criticised Pogba ever since his money-spinning £89million move back to England in 2016, questioning the player's attitude on and off the pitch after failing to live up to the billing.

Pogba riposted his critic by claiming he had no idea who Souness was or what he looked like.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes the United midfielder's comment was out of line.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher said: 'We are quite critical of Paul Pogba, I think when you're a player you have certainly got to be respectful, and at certain times take that criticism on the chin.

'So, to come out and say that I've never heard of Graeme Souness really was below the belt.'

Souness was seen laughing when Carragher addressed Pogba's jibe but issued a withering reply to the United player.

'I'm happy with it. The oldest thing in football comes to mind - put your medals on the table', he said on Sky Sports' The Football Show on Tuesday morning.
