AC Milan explore sensational Thiago Silva return

Now 41, the veteran defender has not put a foot wrong with Fluminense this season.

La Republicca says such has been Thiago Silva's form that Milan are now exploring the prospect of bringing their former captain back to Italy next year.

The key reason is 19 year-old stopper David Odogu, with coaching staff believing the former Wolfsburg youth teamer isn't yet ready to step into first team football.

Instead, they see Thiago Silva as the ideal stop-gap, with his leadership and experience also seen as a big benefit to the Milan dressing room.

Thiago Silva joined Milan 16 years ago, spending three seasons with the Rossonero before leaving for PSG. He also won the Champions League with Chelsea, where his two sons are now part of the academy.
