AC Milan great Alessandro Nesta admits he's been impressed by Luka Modric's early impact.
Nesta says the veteran is the best Milan have seen since his former teammate Andrea Pirlo.
He told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Seeing him on the pitch is a beauty, he's thrilled me. There hasn't been anyone like him at San Siro since the Pirlo era.
"With him, Milan is certainly stronger. With two or three more players, he'll become even more interesting, I hope this is a starting point."
Nesta also said: "Did I expect this Milan? Yes. Even the initial defeat: in Serie A, things can happen until matchday eight. But then I also expected the Milan we have today: (Igli) Tare is a great sporting director who knows a lot about football. He's a plus for the club.
"And then there's the return of (Max) Allegri, who gives his best in these situations. He knows how to bring order where there's chaos, and let's not forget another key aspect: the team is strong."
