International father's Day is on the third Sunday of June every year, which is today (6.20). AF here to wish all fathers a happy father's day~(●’◡’●)ﾉ♡
For father's day, let's take stock of several father&son footballers with excellent strength and reputation.
1. Peter & Kasper Schmeichel
The father-son duo of Peter and Kasper Schmeichel is one of the rarest pairs in football to win the Premier League title. Six years later in 2021, Kasper Schmeichel also won the FA Cup with Leicester, thus making the pair only the second father-son duo to win the prestigious trophy.
2. George & Timothy Weah
President of Liberia, George Weah made his name as a centre-forward with PSG, winning all that was on offer domestically, as well as the 1995 Ballon d’Or. Now his son is showing talent in Lille
3. Alf-Inge & Erling Haaland
Erling Haaland spent his early career in his native Norway but it was his move to RB Salzburg in 2019 which has really sky-rocketed his career. And now he grew up as a world-class striker in Dortmund. That's a far cry from the career of his father Alfi-Inge Haaland, who spent his career playing across defense and midfield for Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Manchester City.
4. MAZINHO & THIAGO & RAFINHA
Mazinho, World Cup winner with the Brazilian National team in 1994 and also part of the famous 'cradle celebration' with Bebeto and Romario, is the father of Thiago and Rafinha Alcantara who now play for Liverpool and PSG respectively.
5. Cesare, Paolo, Daniel Maldini
It is incredibly rare that individuals of three different generations from the same family not only become footballers but also end up at the same club. From Cesare to Paolo to now Daniel, there always seems to be a place for a Maldini at AC Milan. It all began with Cesare Maldini as who was a prominent member of the AC Milan side during his 12-year stay at the club.
