Senegal head coach Pape Thiaw has paid glowing tribute to two of Africa’s brightest stars, Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah, describing the pair as “world-class players” who continue to set the benchmark on the continent and beyond.

Speaking on the influence of the two forwards, Thiaw underlined their enduring impact and leadership qualities, even as both players progress through the later stages of their illustrious careers.
“Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah are two world-class players. They continue to deliver extraordinary performances,” Thiaw said. “Sadio is a key part of our setup, our technical leader, and an example for the entire team—just as Salah is for Egypt. We wish them both to continue on this path.”
Mané, Senegal’s talisman and one of the most decorated African footballers of his generation, remains central to the Teranga Lions’ ambitions. Beyond his goals and assists, the former Liverpool star’s influence in the dressing room and on the training pitch has been pivotal, especially as Senegal blend experience with a new generation of talent.
On the other side of the continental rivalry, Salah continues to carry Egypt’s hopes with the same consistency that has defined his career in Europe. The Pharaohs’ captain remains their primary attacking threat and a symbol of belief for a nation that measures success by trophies.
Thiaw’s comments come at a time when both Senegal and Egypt are navigating the business end of the tournament, where fine margins and big personalities often decide outcomes.
