Fresh from Paris Saint-Germain’s qualification for the Champions League round of 16 against AS Monaco, Achraf Hakimi continues to face serious legal trouble. The Moroccan right-back, accused of rape, saw his case referred to trial earlier this week.

Speaking on BFM TV, his lawyer Fanny Colin laid out her client’s version of events, insisting that the encounter was consensual after several weeks of exchanges on Instagram and that no tension or coercion marked the meeting at the player’s home.
According to the defense, Hakimi repeatedly suggested meeting in public or with friends, proposals that were allegedly refused by the complainant before she chose to come to his house. Colin described an evening lasting about an hour, ending with nothing more than a kiss before the woman left. She stressed that this narrative is, in her view, supported by objective elements in the case file and contradicts the accusations brought against the player.
The lawyer then sharply criticized the complainant’s behavior during the investigation, accusing her of obstructing justice. She highlighted the refusal to undergo medical examinations, to identify a key witness, and to hand over her phone, while underlining that Hakimi cooperated fully by providing DNA and agreeing to confrontations. Colin also reminded viewers that the indictment does not reflect the entire case file and that even expert opinions questioning psychological disorders do not, in themselves, confirm the truth of the allegations.
