Just 10 days after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations came to an end, the first round of African qualification for the 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar has been drawn. Here are the 14 ties of Caf's first qualifying round for the 2022 World Cup:
After Asia got the ball rolling last month, Africa have now followed suit. However, South Africa did not feature in the first qualification round draw as only the continent's 28 lowest-ranked teams in the latest FIFA rankings take part.
Those sides will battle it out in a home-and-away play-off round to book their ticket to the group stage.
The 14 winners will join the continent's 26 top-ranked nations, including Bafana Bafana, who are 13th in Africa, and the 40 teams will then be split into 10 groups of four for the second qualifying round.
The 10 winners of those groups will then be drawn against each other in home and away fixtures, with the five victors advancing to Qatar 2022.
