Aguero planning to return to his first club Independiente earlier than planned (Mail)

Sergio Aguero is bringing forward plans to return to his first club Independiente 12 years after he left to launch his career in Europe.

The Manchester City striker, 29, always planned to finish his career in Argentina and intended to move in the summer of 2019 when his contract ends.

However, with manager Pep Guardiola looking to add Alexis Sanchez to a stellar forward line that includes Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling, Aguero is contemplating going home after the World Cup finals.

Real Madrid have been linked with the Argentina striker as a replacement for Karim Benzema but it is unlikely Pep Guardiola would let him leave next month, with City still chasing trophies in four competitions.

Aguero is currently gearing up for City's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon at Selhurst Park.

The striker and his City team-mates currently sit a massive 13 points clear of second-placed Chelsea, who have played a game more.
