Ajax 'try to bring De Ligt back on loan' after disastrous start to life at Juve

Ajax are 'considering' an attempt to bring Matthijs de Ligt back to the club on loan after seeing his mixed start to life at Juventus.

The highly-rated Dutch defender was wanted by all of Europe's elite but settled on a £75million move to Juventus in the summer.

But having sat out recent matches and speculation mounting over his future, A Bola report that Ajax are ready and waiting to see him return, if Juventus were to sanction an exit on loan this month.

Ajax are said to be keeping close watch on how things develop for De Ligt in Turin under boss Maurizio Sarri.

Having dislocated his shoulder - before valiantly playing on - against Atalanta, he sat out forthcoming matches and was replaced by Merih Demiral.

Demiral has impressed and retained his spot, raising questions as to the long-term future of De Ligt at the club.
