Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson has joined David De Gea and Joe Hart in making 18 clean sheets in a Premier League season, and tying in third place in the overall charts.

The former Roma man has made a huge impression in his first season in English football, after arriving at Anfield in the summer for an eye-watering £65million fee.

Alisson briefly became the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of the game, before Chelsea signed Kepa Arrizabalaga, and has his eyes set on finishing the season with the second most clean sheets ever in a campaign.

After shutting out Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday in a 2-0 win, Alisson moved onto 18 clean sheets for the season.

In doing so he pulled level with Manchester United's David De Gea who finished the 2017-18 with the same amount of stops - along with Joe Hart who also registered the same total for Manchester City, in both the 2010/11 season and also the 2012/13.

Alisson pulled off a crucial save in the second half at Anfield to deny Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard, at a time when the Blues were threatening to stage a comeback.

Jurgen Klopp was keen to heap praise on his man between the sticks, later saying: 'There were 10 minutes when Chelsea changed their system and had their chances and Alisson saved our life.
