All Football Power Rankings of the Week (May 1, 2018): Barca back on top as Real rank 2nd

  /  Searlas

Hello again! We organize clubs of Europe's top 5 leagues into an order that reflects the up-to-the-minute hierarchy every Tuesday.

The rankings are a season-long measurement of clubs, tracking teams throughout 2017-18 and taking into account results from all competitions. Our rankings consider advanced stats, full-season play and recent performance with some gut feeling mixed in.

Sides that have lost the fewest games naturally rank higher—though the strength of opposition met in a loss is considered—and both UEFA Champions/Europa League form and presence are used as tiebreakers for those with similar records. Teams that gather big wins against strong opponents get a boost.

10. Arsenal

Arsene Wenger's final trip to Manchester United as Arsenal manager ended in an agonising defeat after an injury-time winner from Marouane Fellaini. In midweek, Antoine Griezmann punished Arsenal's lax defence late on as 10-man Atletico Madrid salvaged a draw from the Europa League semi-final first leg at Emirates Stadium.

9. PSG

Two late goals from Edinson Cavani spared Paris Saint-Germain from defeat on Sunday night but the Ligue 1 champions lost their perfect home record with a 2-2 draw against Guingamp.

8. Atletico Madrid

Fernando Torres had a penalty saved as Atletico Madrid warmed up for their Europa League semi-final second leg with Arsenal with victory at Alaves. They drew with Arsenal (1-1) in the Europa League semi-final first leg at Emirates Stadium.

7. Juventus

Serie A leaders Juventus scored twice in the last three minutes to secure a dramatic win over 10-man Inter Milan and maintain control of the title race.

6. Liverpool

Another Mohamed Salah masterclass helped Liverpool take control of their Champions League semi-final - but two late Roma away goals gave the Italian side a glimmer of hope for the second leg. They suffer goalless draw against Stoke at Anfield on Saturday.

5. Manchester United

Manchester United beat Arsenal 2-1 in Wenger's last trip to Old Trafford as Gunners manager.

4. Manchester City

Manchester City reached 100 Premier League goals for the season with a 4-1 win at struggling West Ham

3. Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich lost 2-1 to Real Madrid at home in Champions League semi-final first leg, though they beat Frankfurt 4-1 on Sunday.

2. Real Madrid

Real Madrid took control of their Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich with victory in the first leg at the Allianz Arena. And they edged past Leganes in La Liga on Saturday.

1. Barcelona

For the seventh time in 10 years, FC Barcelona has won the La Liga crown, further cementing a historic run that began in the 2008/09 season. With a decade of sheer dominance, Barca now has 25 La Liga trophies to its name.

Points for each team are based on All Football Power Rankings System. Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments section. See you next week!
