All Serie A games called off today including Milan-Inter after sudden death of Astori
Davide Astori's shock death has led to all Serie A matches being postponed. The 31-year-old was found dead in his hotel room in the early hours of Sunday morning ahead of Fiorentina's clash with Udinese.
His former side Cagliari were due to face Genoa at 11:30am but the match was postponed just minutes before kick-off as the news filtered through.
The two sets of players were out on the pitch warming up but left in tears after discovering the devastating news.
Astori spent most of his playing career with Cagliari before departing for Fiorentina. Italian Players Association chief Damiano Tommasi called for all matches to be cancelled.
And it has been confirmed that none will go ahead after the devastating news. AC and Inter were due to face off in the Milan derby on Sunday among other matches.
