Dele Alli met up with England team-mate Jadon Sancho with both on holiday in California as football's biggest names kick back and relax in the summer break.

After a long and gruelling season, players are taking the chance to recharge the batteries on holiday before managers hit the reset button ready for pre-season in the next couple of weeks.

From sun-soaked villas in Beverley Hills to safari tours in Tanzania, Premier League stars are spending their free time off all over the world.

Alli and Sancho, who enjoyed a breakthrough season in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, have struck up a friendship in the England set-up and decided to 'link-up' with both relaxing in plush villas in Beverley Hills this week.

The Tottenham man was topless as the pair shook hands, a picture which was posted on their Instagram pages, while they drank from plastic cups next to the villa's pool.

Sancho and Alli were not the only members of Gareth Southgate's England squad to have seized the chance for some time away.

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford was all smiles as he posted a photo of himself wearing a Golden State Warriors NBA jersey.

Rashford's Manchester United team-mate Romelu Lukaku looked unfazed with speculation over his future as he was another to opt for a villa in Beverley Hills for his off-season break.

Posting a photo of himself alongside Lyon ace Memphis Depay - who left United the summer Lukaku arrived from Everton - he was all smiles as he shared a joke with the Dutch winger.

Writing on Instagram, Lukaku said: 'Small circle, I ain't never really 'round squares.'

California has proven a popular destination choice among a host of the game's top stars due to its climate and the fact a number of sides see pre-season tours take place across the US.

But while America has captured the hearts of Alli, Sancho, Lukaku and Depay, other stars opted for more exotic climbs for their holidays.

Ander Herrera, who departed Manchester United on a free transfer this summer, showed off his boat ride in Colombia.

The Spanish midfielder is yet to announce his next move but he is of interest to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Meanwhile, Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko went wildlife spotting in Tanzania as the French international got the thrill of a safari tour.

Kenedy, who spent last season on loan at Newcastle United from Chelsea, held his arms out in celebration after completing a hike in the resort of Armacao dos Buzios in his native Brazil.
