Dani Alves is not convinced that Lionel Messi is enjoying himself at Paris Saint-Germain.
Messi - who signed a two-year deal with the Ligue 1 side and earns a staggering £35million a season - has struggled to find his feet in France.
Alves believes Messi is at his best when he is 'enjoying' himself. Therefore, he thinks the 34-year-old should return to Barcelona to see out his career.
Speaking to Diarios de Bicicleta via ESPN, Alves said: 'For me, no, he is not enjoying himself (at Paris Saint-Germain ).
'Because Leo makes this game special, and he does it when he is having a good time, because when he is having a good time, the others enjoy it.
'For me it is out of place, right now Leo is out of place there. Because Leo for me lived in the best place in the world to practice what he loves', explained Alves.
'Leo always told me where are you going to be better than here? And I checked, there is no better place than here.
'Even when it came out that he was leaving, I sent him the same message that he told me, 'said the Brazilian, who dreams of a reunion with his friend in Barcelona.
'For whatever reason he is not here and I hope he can come back. I don't know, but if he comes, let him come here with me, to enjoy at least a little more of all that.
'All the people who leave here regret it, everyone. Some will say no, because they don't like to lose, but all the people who leave regret it, because it's better than here that they won't be anywhere', Alves accepted.
Messi received wave of criticism in the wake of PSG's Champions League exit at the hands of Real Madrid last week.
PSG fans booed the Argentine star and his teammate Neymar during their league match against Bordeaux last Sunday.
However, Messi is determined to stay at PSG and establish himself as a super-star in the France.
Messi wants to lift the Ligue 1 trophy and still dreams of winning the Champions League with the Parisian club.
And, though rumours abound of a return to Barcelona, there has been no contact between him or his entourage with the Catalan club since he left them last summer.
