According to L’Équipe, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has met with senior executives of American private equity Arctos Partners to discuss purchasing a stake in PSG. Representatives of the investment firm arrived from the US to meet with the Paris president on Tuesday.
American investment funds have expressed their interest in investing in the French capital club in the past, but it now appears Arctos Partners could be announced as minority shareholders in the next two months. The stake taken on by the American investment fund is expected to be somewhere between 5% – 15%.
During the French champions’ preseason tour of Japan, the club’s president also met with Asian investors to discuss the opportunity of acquiring a minority stake in the club. However, following the conclusion of a 3-and-a-half-hour meeting with Arctos Partners, Al-Khelaïfi looks set to opt for American investment instead. Arctos want to be able invest money but also bring new ideas to the table at the Parc des Princes.
