  /  RichardYan

After two months of suffering mental despair from fouled out against Chelsea, Ronald Araujo is back at the pitch to substitute after De Jong's red card. His teammates also welcomes his return by lifting him up.

This is Araujo's first apperance in 2026. His last match could be dated back to November 2025, which he tackled roughly against Cucurella and received a red card. Since then, it's been about one and a half month. According to journalistic reports, Ronald has been suffering from severe anxiety and depression. He missed five rounds of La Liga, UCL match against Frankfurt, and semi-final of Spanish Super Cup against Athletic. Around the end of December he returned to training field to undergo, mainly, mental treatments. During Christmas period, he returned to his native Uruguay, where he trained alone over the Christmas period.

After the finals win against Real Madrid, Barca teammates held aloft their captain in the air to celebrate their first trophy of the year. De Jong passed the captain's armband, and lift the trophy.
