Mikel Arteta's side had taken the lead after a good run from Reiss Nelson who then found Eddie Nketiah who expertly tucked away into the far corner.
Brighton though came back to win after a first-half penalty from Danny Welbeck and second-half goals from Kaoru Mitoma and Tariq Lamptey.
