Latest Arsenal transfer news as Paris Saint-Germain receive a world record bid for Kylian Mbappe from Saudi Arabia

Kylian Mbappe's future at Paris Saint-Germain looks certain to be resolved this summer.

Earlier in the window, the striker informed the Ligue 1 champions of his decision not to extend his contract beyond 2024 meaning he will be available as a free agent in June next year. The thought of losing their star player for nothing is something PSG are simply not going to allow, meaning a transfer is imminent.

Last week, the biggest swing in circumstance came after the 24-year-old was left out of PSG's pre-season tour and placed on the transfer list. A move to Real Madrid this summer is very unlikely following the signing of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, meaning the door is open to any club who can afford him.

Should Mbappe end his time in Paris, Luis Enrique is expected to dip into the transfer market for a new number nine. PSG have already lost Lionel Messi this summer and have faced constant injury concerns with Neymar.

One player who may be of interest is Arsenal's Folarin Balogun. The 22-year-old is highly expected to leave the club after his impressive breakthrough campaign last year in France.

Without question, Balogun hasn't proved himself at a top club. He has only made two Premier League appearances for Arsenal and has struggled to make an impact off the bench in pre-season this summer.

However, a return to France would make perfect sense. He has already showcased his ability to score regularly in France and with world-class players around him, he could really fulfil his potential in Paris.

If any club are to meet Arsenal's demand with little trouble, PSG are that team. And with Mbappe edging closer to an exit, the French giants will have to act swiftly in the market to give themselves the best possible chance of retaining the Ligue 1 title.
