His performances at the World Cup were up there with some of the best but his time in Madrid has failed to live up to the expectation. While it'll be rather difficult to lure him away from Los Blancos, the Gunners have already flexed their transfer pull this summer.
Should Partey and Xhaka leave, a player of Tchouameni's calibre would put Arsenal up there with one of the strongest midfields in Europe.
Nwaneri agreement 'close'
The 16-year-old had attracted interest from Chelsea and Manchester City recently but has now signed his first professional contract at the club - which will come into place when he turns 17 in March next year.

Nwaneri has impressed in the youth ranks at London Colney and is clearly highly valued by Arteta after his cameo against Brentford last season. He may not be a name we see often in the first team next season, but securing the future of one of the most promising stars at the club speaks volumes.
Gone are the days where Arsenal would lose their youth prodigies to lucrative contracts elsewhere. There is now a footprint to follow after Saka's success at senior level and Nwaneri could be the next superstar.
