Arsenal transfer news as Serie A side Inter Milan continue to pursue a move for Folarin Balogun this summer

Inter Milan are preparing to make their first official bid for Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun, though the details of the deal fall short of the Gunners' value of the 22-year-old.

Inter Milan, AC Milan, RB Leipzig, AC Monaco, West Ham and Chelsea have all been credited with interest, though Arsenal's sizable transfer demand of £50million has put a number of clubs off.

Now, reports from Italy on Sunday have reported that Inter are ready to make their first move for Balogun worth in excess of €40million (£34.6m). However, the structure of the deal is likely to prove a problem.

Tuttosport (via FCInter1908) have claimed that Nerazzurri intend to offer Arsenal €5million (£4.3m) for a season-long loan deal with a mandatory €35million (£30.2m) plus add-ons included as part of the move - a total of €40million (£34.6m).

Members of the Inter hierarchy were considering a move for Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, though the asking price for the Spain international has put them off. A move for Balogun is now viewed as a priority.

Whilst Inter's move will fall short of Arsenal's asking price, the necessity to raise funds as soon as possible means the Gunners may be faced with accepting their fate and accept the Italian side's proposal.
