Arsenal have reportedly held positive talks with Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega.
The Argentina international is currently in Russia at the World Cup where his side are fighting to stay in the competition.
But his agent Marcelo Simonian is believed to have flown to London to hold talks with Arsenal chiefs, according to reports in Italy.
New Gunners boss Unai Emery is keen to be reunited with Banega having coached him at Sevilla.
The Spaniard has already signed Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus and goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Leverkusen.
Uruguay midfielder Lucas Torreira is expected to become the north London club's third summer signing in the coming days.
