The Gunners have named a relatively strong starting XI, with summer signings Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber all starting.

Arsenal's pre-season friendly against Barcelona has been thrown into doubt after the La Liga champions were forced to cancel their match against Juventus on Saturday evening.

Several members of Barcelona's squad are currently suffering from viral gastroenteritis, meaning the Blaugrana were unable to take part in their game in California. Writing on Twitter, the club's official Twitter account wrote: "FC Barcelona hereby informs that the game against Juventus FC, scheduled for today, July 22 at 7:30 PM at Levi’s Stadium, as part of the Soccer Champions Tour, has been cancelled.

"A significant part of the blaugrana squad has a viral gastroenteritis."

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta remained coy when asked about reports that claimed Mason Mount snubbed a move to north London if favour of Manchester United.

"We are so happy with the players that we’ve signed and the players that we’ve got in our squad," Arteta said when asked about missing out on signing Mount this summer.

Arsenal defender Ryan Alebiosu has attracted attention from Championship sides Queens Park Rangers and Rotherham United, according to Teamtalk.

Their report claims that the Gunners are willing to listen to offers for the 21-year-old.

As per Italian outlet Alfredo Pedulla, Inter Milan are working with intermediaries in an attempt to make Arsenal reduce their asking price for youngster Folarin Balogun.

It is claimed that Inter want to try and sign Balogun for less than £40million.

Arsenal chief executive Vinai Venkatesham has hailed the ambition of Gunners owner Stan Kroenke.

Speaking to Bloomberg about the club's summer moves, he Venkatesham: "What we've done this summer is supplement that squad with three new signings. The three positions we wanted to strengthen, the three players we wanted and we were delighted to get them right at the start of the window so we have them with us here on tour in the US and it means they can assimilate in the squad.

"It was a heavy, significant investment and that investment really shows the ambition of our ownership group. They have had enormous success with their franchises in the US of recent years, winning the Super Bowl, winning the Stanley Cup and winning the NBA championships so they've really invested behind the team and they've really supported us this window so we will be ready for the fight this season."

According to Brazilian outlet UOL, Arsenal transfer chief Edu Gaspar is personally in contact with Gremio regarding a move for Bitello.

The 23-year-old has been mooted as a potential target for Mikel Arteta's side this summer.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Nicolas Pepe's injury issues are the reason that he wasn't included in the Gunners' squad for their pre-season tour of the USA.

“At the moment he is recovering from an injury which is why he’s not here", Arteta said when asked about the Ivory Coast international.

“He had a spell on loan and obviously we wanted to get much more than we got from that loan spell. We have to see when we come back, understand what the plans are and make the right decision for him.”

Arsenal could potentially seal a transfer bargain if they make a move for Paulo Dybala this summer.

The attacker is available for just £10.4million due to a clause in his contract.

But they'll have to hurry as there's an expiry date.

If the Gunners want to sign Mbappe, they may have to move quickly.

According to RMC (via GFFN), Chelsea are "studying the possibility" of a move for the PSG star - though with the amount Chelsea spent on transfers in the last year, it could prove difficult for the Blues to finance a move for the PSG superstar.

Arsenal have been told a £95m double-transfer could help them unlock a secret weapon in the race against Manchester City for next season's Premier League title.

The Gunners have already welcomed Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice to the Emirates Stadium, spending north of £200m on the trio.

But two more moves could see them finally get an advantage over Pep Guardiola...

"At the moment he’s recovering from an injury. That’s why he’s not here. He had a spell on loan and we wanted to get more from that loan spell. We’ll have to see when he comes back. Have a chat with him. Understand what he plans are and make a decision."

The Arsenal midfielder has been linked with a move away this summer, with Saudi Arabian clubs interested in a deal for the Ghana international.
