Latest Arsenal news as Gunners co-chairs Stan Kroenke and son Josh celebrate the Denver Nuggets' win at the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference NBA finals this week

Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke toasted his Denver Nuggets side's maiden Western Conference championship win this week.

Kroenke saw his Arsenal side come up short in their Premier League title battle with Manchester City but is on the verge of success with the Nuggets, having seen his Colorado Avalanche ice hockey side win the Stanley Cup last year and the LA Rams win the 2021 Super Bowl. "We've got work to do, but this is a nice start," Kroenke told The Denver Post after the Nuggets' 113-111 win in LA.

"If we all knew the team was always going to go out and win, it wouldn’t be any fun." Kroenke's son, Josh, agreed with his father.

The Arsenal co-chair added: "That’s true, but if you knew the team was going to win it sure would relieve some of the anxiety." The Nuggets will be the primary focus of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment's focus over the next month or so but there is plenty of work to be done across the sports empire, not least at Arsenal where Mikel Arteta wants to upgrade his midfield.
