Arsenal star 'on brink of leaving Gunners as transfer to Germany edges closer'

One of Arsenal's brightest young talents is set to be England's next Bundesliga export.

Xavier Amaechi, highly-rated by many in the Arsenal academy set-up, appears to be edging closer to a move to Germany.

The forward has just one year left on his contract at the Emirates and although there are reported to be talks ongoing over an extension, there is interest from elsewhere.

According to Goal , sources at Arsenal believe that Germany is the most likely destination - and Bild claim that Hamburg have had a bid in the region of £2.2million accepted.

And it is reported that decision for Unai Emery to omit him from the teamsheet did not go down particularly well.

He was again snubbed by Emery this summer after not receiving a call-up to the senior squad's pre-season tour and instead was asked to remain with the Under-23s.

Bayern Munich have previously been linked with a move for Amaechi, while clubs in England and Spain have also shown an interest.

Arsenal want the 18-year-old to stay for the coming season and beyond, but Amaechi is keen for first-team promises before he commits his future.
