Arsenal's players were in buoyant spirits in training on Friday as new manager Unai Emery stepped up preparations for the forthcoming season.

A host of first-team players including Alexandre Lacazette and Hector Bellerin took part in a varied session at the club's London Colney base, while summer signing Matteo Guendouzi also participated after completing his £7million move from Lorient this week.

Key duo Lacazette and Bellerin in particular appeared to enjoy the session as they celebrated goals and messed around with fellow team-mates on occasion.

Playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan joined in the fun as he raised his arms aloft in celebration.

Manager Emery, meanwhile could be seen intervening to play an active role in drills where necessary.

The Gunners squad also spent time in the pool doing recovery work.

Strikers Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang took ice baths and splashed around, with young Rob Holding also showing his athleticism with a somersault during the pool session.

Arsenal head to Singapore on Sunday to take part in the International Champions Cup alongside a number of other top clubs.

Emery's men face Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid on Thursday, before taking on French champions Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday.

They will then play Premier League rivals Chelsea on August 1 in a game which could well determine their fate in the competition.

The Gunners kick off the new domestic season at home to champions Manchester City on August 12, with Emery undoubtedly looking for a win in his first competitive game in charge.
