Romelu Lukaku has had his £250,000 Rolls Royce Ghost painted in Manchester United's red and black colours.

Lukaku had purchased the lavish 155mph supercar in black and white but spent a small fortune on modifying its appearance to reflect his side's famous colours.

The United striker's girlfriend Sarah Mens was spotted taking the new look motor out for a spin round Hale village on Monday afternoon.

It comes a day after the £75million summer signing found the back of the net for the second successive game to help Jose Mourinho's side to a 2-1 victory over West Brom.

Lukaku had been experiencing a mini crisis of confidence in front of goal but has managed to recapture the kind of goalscoring form he showed at the start of the season by netting two times in five days.

Despite this, the Belgium international opted against celebrating his goals against Bournemouth and West Brom and has come under scrutiny for it, particularly from former United defender Gary Neville.

Neville, who was commentating on Sunday's game, said:  'Do we think that's why he hasn't celebrated here? Because of a loan period? Pfft.

'He didn't look ecstatic against Bournemouth in midweek either.

'He needs to celebrate, he's had some criticism recently but when you score you need to celebrate with those fans jumping up and down behind the goal. You need to endear yourself to them.'

Sportsmail columnist Jamie Redknapp was also critical during half-time, insisting he will never get why players don't celebrate their goals.

'I don't get the non-celebrating, I'll never understand that,' he added during half-time.

'The criticism is irrelevant, you're paid big money to affect games for Manchester United.

'Not celebrating a goal? I'd give anything to go and score goals again.

'Its ridiculous.'
