Solskjaer: I don't think Haaland is en route to Manchester through me

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has responded to reports Erling Haaland is en route to Manchester to seal a January transfer move to United.

According to Norwegian newspaper Aftonbladet, Haaland was joined by father Alf-Inge and Jim Solbakken, an agent involved in his career who also works with Solskjaer, on a flight from Sola to Manchester due to land at 10:15am.

It comes after Solskjaer confirmed their interest in the prolific striker this week and flew to Salzburg for talks with the player regarding a transfer last Friday.

Haaland is said to be keen to get his future resolved before Christmas as he eyes his next move.

And Solskjaer addressed the issue at his press conference on Friday morning ahead of their clash at Watford on Sunday.

Solskjaer said: "I don't think he's en route here, to be fair - not through me, anyway.

"You know I can't comment on other teams' players. I've said that many a time.

"Well, he's not coming to Manchester because... well, I know the boy, his friends & all this.

"He's on a Christmas holiday. No (not in Manchester) but you can't fly anywhere from Stavanger, can you, so you need to go via via!"

Discussing Haaland earlier this week, Solskjaer Norwegian TV channel Viasport : "He is a player I like.

"We are looking for good players all the time.

"Erling has had a good development, so he has to develop further wherever he decides.

"I don’t need to talk so much about him, but we as a team always look for players who can complement the others we have, and then we see what we end up with."
