Aston Villa are in talks to re-sign midfielder Douglas Luiz 18 months after he left the club for Juventus.

They are pushing for a new midfielder on loan after agreeing an £18m deal for striker Tammy Abraham from Besiktas.
Villa want midfield reinforcements in part because of recent injuries to Boubacar Kamara - ruled out for the season - and John McGinn.
Their former player Luiz is available to switch loan clubs from Nottingham Forest having only managed five Premier League starts this season - amounting to just 318 minutes in total.
Any permanent aspect of a deal would only cost Villa a fraction of the £43m (€50m) they sold him to Juventus for in June 2024. Luiz is still contracted to Juve until 2029.
